Camplas manufacture a broad range of polyethylene tanks covering potable water storage, rainwater harvesting, chemical storage and agricultural use such as cattle troughs and water bowsers. Most are rotationally moulded in one piece for strength and are available in vertical, horizontal and low-profile formats. This makes them a practical choice whether you need a simple garden water butt or a bunded chemical tank for a commercial site.

Camplas produce a specific range of WRAS-approved potable tanks manufactured from food-grade polyethylene, suitable for drinking water storage. Non-potable models in the same style are cheaper but must not be used for wholesome water — always check the product listing before ordering. If in doubt, look for the WRAS certification stated clearly in the tank's specification.

Sizing depends on intended use — a household rainwater harvesting tank is typically sized for daily garden or WC-flushing demand, while agricultural or bulk water storage needs calculating against usage volumes and delivery frequency. Camplas tanks are sold in a wide range of litre capacities from small water butts up to several thousand litres, so measure your available space (height and footprint) as well as demand before choosing. As a rule, it's more cost-effective to buy one larger tank than to link several smaller ones.

Most Camplas polyethylene tanks are designed for above-ground use only, standing on a level, load-bearing base such as concrete or compacted hardcore. Some models are suitable for below-ground installation but these require proper backfilling and, in areas with high water tables, may need additional ballasting to prevent flotation. Always check the specific product's installation guidance rather than assuming — using an above-ground-only tank underground will void any warranty and risks structural failure.

Vertical tanks have a smaller footprint and are generally easier to fit into tight spaces or against a wall, making them popular for domestic water storage. Horizontal tanks, often baffled internally to reduce surge, are typically used where the tank will be transported or moved while partly full, such as bowsers or mobile water carriers. Choose based on available space and whether the tank needs to remain static or be moved once filled.

Confirm access to the delivery point — larger tanks are bulky and may require a suitable vehicle to get close to the installation site, as manual carrying isn't always practical. Have the base fully prepared and level before the tank arrives, as most polyethylene tanks aren't designed to be dragged or repositioned once delivered. It's also worth checking lead times in advance, as larger capacities are sometimes made to order rather than held in stock.
