Worksite Accessories FAQs
What's typically included in a safety station and do I need more than one on site?
A safety station usually combines eyewash, first aid supplies and sometimes spill response items in a single weatherproof housing, so operatives can reach help quickly wherever an incident occurs. HSE guidance expects welfare and emergency provisions to be within reasonable reach of all work areas, so larger or spread-out sites often need more than one station positioned near high-risk activities.
Are your site storage boxes secure enough for tools and plant left overnight?
Our site storage boxes are built from heavy-gauge steel with lockable, weatherproof lids designed to deter opportunist theft and keep contents dry. For higher-value plant or frequent overnight storage we'd recommend pairing the box with ground anchors or chaining to a fixed point, as no container is entirely theft-proof on an open site.
Do I need bunded storage for fuel, oil or chemicals on site?
Yes — if you're storing more than 200 litres of diesel or other oils, or any quantity of certain hazardous substances, environmental regulations generally require bunded containment capable of holding at least 110% of the tank's volume. This prevents leaks or spills reaching drains, soil or watercourses and is standard practice on most regulated construction and agricultural sites.
What's the difference between GRP and steel worksite accessories, and which should I choose?
GRP (fibreglass) items are lightweight, corrosion-proof and low-maintenance, making them a good choice for long-term outdoor use or coastal/exposed sites. Steel accessories tend to be tougher against impact damage and vandalism, so they suit busy sites with heavy footfall or plant movement — the right choice really depends on how the item will be used and how long it needs to last.
Can worksite accessories be left outdoors permanently, or do they need extra protection?
Most items in this range are manufactured to withstand UK weather conditions, with UV-stable materials and corrosion-resistant fittings as standard. That said, items with electrical components or absorbent contents (such as spill kits) should still be kept under cover or within a housing to maximise service life and keep contents usable when needed.
What's the typical lead time for delivery, and can you handle bulk orders for multiple sites?
Standard worksite accessories are generally held in stock and dispatched promptly, though exact lead times depend on the item and your delivery location. For multiple-site rollouts or bulk quantities, it's best to speak directly with our Materials Handling Sales Team, who can confirm availability and coordinate staggered deliveries where needed.
