Enduramaxx FAQs

What are Enduramaxx tanks made from and how long do they last?

Enduramaxx tanks are manufactured from medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) using rotational moulding, which produces a single-piece, seamless tank with no welds or joints to fail. This construction is UV-stabilised and resistant to a wide range of chemicals, and typically gives a service life of 20 years or more when installed and used correctly.

Do I need a bunded tank, and what does bunding actually mean?

A bunded tank has an outer containment tank built around the inner storage tank, so if the inner tank fails or leaks, the contents are held within the bund rather than escaping to ground or drains. Enduramaxx bunded tanks are commonly specified for chemical storage, diesel, and other substances where environmental regulations or your insurer require secondary containment. If you're storing anything other than plain water, check with your local Environment Agency guidance or COSHH assessment as to whether bunding is a legal requirement.

Can Enduramaxx tanks be installed above ground, or do they need to be buried?

Most Enduramaxx tanks in this range are designed for above-ground installation on a flat, level, well-compacted base such as concrete or compacted pea gravel — they are not built to withstand the ground pressures of burial unless specifically designated as an underground model. Always check the datasheet for the specific tank, as underground and above-ground variants differ in wall thickness and structural design. Getting the base wrong is the single biggest cause of tank failure, so it's worth getting this right before delivery.

How do I choose the right size Enduramaxx tank for my application?

Sizing depends on intended use: for potable or process water, calculate daily demand and desired reserve; for rainwater harvesting, factor in roof catchment area and average rainfall; for chemical or effluent storage, consider batch volumes and any regulatory holding-time requirements. Enduramaxx tanks are available across a wide range of capacities, from a few hundred litres up to large industrial volumes, so it's worth checking both footprint and height against your available space, including access for delivery and any doorways or gateways.

What delivery access do I need to arrange for a large Enduramaxx tank?

Larger tanks are usually delivered by HIAB or crane-offload vehicle, so you'll need firm, level ground for the lorry to stand on and enough overhead and side clearance for the crane arm to manoeuvre the tank into position. It's the customer's responsibility to ensure suitable access and a prepared base is ready before the delivery date, as redelivery or manual handling on site can incur additional charges. If access is tight, let us know the site restrictions in advance so we can flag any issues before the tank is dispatched.

Are Enduramaxx tanks suitable for storing chemicals, or only water?

The Enduramaxx range extends well beyond water storage and includes tanks specifically designed for chemical dosing, effluent, liquid fertiliser and other aggressive substances, with chemical resistance charts available to confirm compatibility with your specific product. Not every tank in the range is suitable for every chemical, so always check the fitting materials, gaskets and specific gravity rating against your intended contents before ordering. Where in doubt on compatibility or venting requirements, it's best to get advice before committing to a tank.
