These kits are extremely conductive and are manufactured from polyurethane with metal filaments running through the horizontal strands (apart from the bottom baseline).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eTo 'charge' the net, an energiser is connected to the assembled system and to the ground via an earth stake - which forms an open circuit. When an animal encounters the net and ground, it completes the circuit and gets a shock. The energiser produces a high voltage pulse approximately once every second.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eFoxes (being the main predator that is likely to encounter the fence) will investigate unfamiliar additions to their environment and when curiosity gets the better of them, and they touch the fence, a shock is delivered.
